Day 1 May 02, 2027 - Aberdeen

Day 3 May 04, 2027 - Orkney Islands
The Orkney Islands are different from mainland Britain and reflect the original 9th century Viking settlement. In addition to Norse heritage are remains of prehistoric monuments such as Stenness Standing Stones at Finstown. Steep-roofed stone houses line streets winding around medieval St. Magnus Cathedral. A museum featuring Orkney artifacts is housed in 16th-century Tankerness House. Other attractions include Maes Howe, Britain's best-preserved megalithic tomb, and the stone-age village Skara Brae. Rock circles, cairns, standing stones, ancient tombs and prehistoric villages are scattered about, gaining these islands international recognition. Only the walls and tower of the 12-century residence, Bishop's Palace, stand. The top of the tower affords a great view of the cathedral and across Kirkwall rooftops. Earl's Palace dates from 1600. Its style blends medieval fierceness with elements of French Renaissance architecture - featuring dungeons, massive fireplaces and magnificent central hall. A good mile south of town is Highland Park - the "most northerly legal distillery in Scotland."

The Shetland Islands are Great Britain's most northerly islands, situated nearly fifty miles northeast of the Orkneys.

Day 8 May 09, 2027 - Bear Island
Bear Island, also known as Bjørnøya, is the southernmost island of the Norwegian Svalbard archipelago. The island and surrounding waters are a natural reserve. The island is basically uninhabited by humans, except for personnel working at the meteorological station. However, visitors can see wildlife such as, arctic foxes, ringed seal, bearded seal, puffin and other seabirds and some polar bears.
Day 9 May 10, 2027 - Storfjorden
Storfjorden (Storfjord) is a municipality belonging to the Troms County in Norway. During World War II, Storfjorden served as a prison camp for an estimated of 7000 to 8000 Soviet prisoners. Now, this destination is loved by those who appreciate nature and enjoy spending time in the great outdoors. There is so much to do and see, there is even a luxury hotel in the area for those who wanted to take some days discovering what Storfjorden has to offer.

Now, this destination is loved by those who appreciate nature and enjoy spending time in the great outdoors. There is so much to do and see, there is even a luxury hotel in the area for those who wanted to take some days discovering what Storfjorden has to offer.
Day 11 May 12, 2027 - Hornsund, Norway
The Hornsund area is situated within South Spitsbergen National Park, and is the southernmost fjord in Svalbard . Coastal plains are covered with very rich tundra vegetation. Mountain slopes and cliffs are breeding places for numerous sea birds in the summer such as little auk. Visitors will also see polar foxes and reindeer across the tundra, and Hornsund is the region where the most important movements of polar bears between western parts of Spitsbergen and Storfjorden take place throughout the year. Due to the unique and pristine richness of the marine fauna and flora in Hornsund, it was nominated as one of the 12 European Biodiversity Flagship Sites by the European Community.

Day 16 May 17, 2027 - Longyearbyen
Known for its stark mountain peaks and spectacular glaciers, Longyearbyen was named for the American John Monroe Longyear, who established a mining operation here in 1906. In the summer season, many species of birds can be found nesting in the steep cliffs while the seaside harbors a number of marine animals from white whales, seals and walruses. In the small town, are museums, local shops and restaurants to explore at a leisurely pace.
Day 17 May 17, 2027 - Helsinki
Often referred to as "Pearl of the Baltic," this neat city is known for impressive architecture, wide boulevards, and beautiful harbor. Grand Senate Square, dominated by exquisite Tuomio Church and onion domes of Russian Orthodox Uspenski Cathedral, is an example of neo-Classical, Empire-style impressive architecture. Visit the lively harborfront market and Temppeliaukioa Church (Rock Church), which was created in the 60's from man-made and natural materials. Finland’s musical heritage comes alive in great Finlandia Hall, designed by renowned architect Alvar Aalto. Finland’s beloved composer, Jean Sibelius, is remembered by a beautiful monument on Helsinki’s outskirts. Helsinki has good museums displaying everything from art to architectural design. Open-air Museum - the small wooded island of Seurasaari - has a collection of vernacular buildings assembled from all over Finland which provide insight into how country folk lived until recently. Suomenlinna Fortress is the largest in the world and often called Gibraltar of the North.

Pricing Terms & Remarks
All fares are per person, based on double occupancy (unless otherwise noted) and quoted in US dollars (US$). Rates for expeditions, flights, as well as optional pre-expedition and post-expedition extensions are based on tariffs and exchange rates in effect at the time of printing and are subject to change prior to departure. Substantial changes in tariffs, exchange rates and the price of fuel, services and labor sometimes increase the cost of expedition arrangements significantly. Quark reserves the right to alter prices or introduce surcharges accordingly, even if payment has been received in full. All travelers are required to pay for their excursion and additional purchases in conjunction with their excursion in the same currency. The fare does not include tobacco, alcoholic or special beverages (bottled or tap), miscellaneous extras, personal needs or medical care. Such goods and services, if available for purchase aboard the vessel/camp, are at the traveler's own expense. Payment for all such goods and services including any charges for extra baggage must be made in cash or by traveler's checks in US dollars (or other currency acceptable to the carrier) upon demand by the carrier prior to the traveler's disembarkation. Taxes, port charges, embarkation and loading expenses, stamps, health fees and any other charges whatsoever imposed by governmental authorities in any port or place shall be for the account of the traveler if not included in the fare paid to Quark.
To confirm reservations on all Quark products, a deposit of 25% (minimum US$1000 per person) is required at time of booking. The deposit may be paid by bank wire transfer, check, money order or major credit card. For any booking within 120 days of departure full payment is required. Final payment balances are due 120 days prior to departure.
Important reminder: Embracing the unexpected is part of the legacy – and excitement – of expedition travel. There are no guarantees that we can achieve everything we set out to accomplish. A measure of flexibility is something all of us must bring to a voyage. There are nearly 200 recognized sites in the Antarctic Peninsula and South Shetlands and the places mentioned above may be changed to others equally as interesting.
