Day 2 Sep 06, 2026 - St. Florent, Corsica
St Florent, a bustling, attractive waterfront town on a sparkling bay, is sheltered by the wild Cap Corse mountains and the beautiful, untamed, maquis cloaked Desert des Agriates. Stroll into old town to discover a charming, ageless 'quartier' of old houses, little shops, wine bars, and a game of boules in village square. An area teeming with rugged beauty, Cap Corse is a maquis coverered peninsula whose history sets it apart from the rest of Corsica. As the 'island within the island' this peninsula, which points out into the Mediterranean, is guarded by numerous watchtowers built to protect from invaders.
Day 3 Sep 07, 2026 - Corsica (Ajaccio)
On the French island of Corsica, Ajaccio is famous as the birthplace of Napoleon. Visit the Bonaparte family home and the 16th century church where he was baptized. Or, take a tour into the wild and rugged outback countryside they call the maquis.

Corsica's picturesque southernmost town Bonifacio gazes across the blue Mediterranean to Sardinia. In its narrow cobbled alleys lingers a strangely medieval mood and the ancient stone houses of the fortress-like, once much-besieged community cling to one of the island's most striking sites - a towering promontory of sheer limestone rock jutting out improbably into the sea 200ft below. Founded about AD 828 as a defence against pirates, the town was taken from Pisa at the end of the 12th century by the Genoese and remained under the influence of Genoa until modern times.
Day 6 Sep 10, 2026 - Bonifacio

Calvi, with its long sandy beach, boarded by parasol pine-trees, is dominated by a Genoese citadel planted on a promontory with the small town below, extending along a waterfront, bustling with fishing boats and yachts. Not surprising its idyllic setting is so attractive for ships of all sizes.
