Day 3 Jul 20, 2026 - Pylos
Pylos is a small town built in the natural bay of Navarino that is located in the southwestern part of the Peloponnese. There are two notable sites in the region that should not be missed - Palace of Nestor and two castles overlooking the Bay of Navarino - the castles Niokastron and Navarino. The Palace of Nestor is best preserved of Mycenaean palaces and is a complex of several buildings consisting of apartments and other royal rooms. Thousands of clay tables were also found at the site and give glimpses into daily life at the palace. The older castle of Navarino, called Palaiokastron, was built in 1573 by the Turks and was given over to the Venetians in 1686. Having changed hands on several more occasions, the castle was used in World War II by Italians and later served as German headquarters. Like any town on the Mediterranean, Pylos is filled with quaint restaurants serving traditional Greek fare. Pylos has been a popular seaside town for decades and has a lot to offer by way of entertainment in addition to historical sites surrounding the port.
Day 4 Jul 21, 2026 - Fiskardho
Cephalonia (Kefalonia) is the largest in area of the Ionian islands. The slopes on the eastern side of the island are covered with pine forests that run down to the sea. In ancient times Kefalonia formed part of the kingdom of Odysseus and here at least archaeologists have been able to find evidence of the ancient sites mentioned in Homer. The tombs at Krani are said to be the best examples of Mycenean tombs in Greece. Kefalonia produces excellent Robola white and red wine and for those who like a rose, the Manzavino is very good. The major earthquake of 1953 demolished every town on Cephalonia except Fiskardho. Fiskardo, the northenmost harbour on Cephalonia, has kept its traditional colour. Lying opposite and very close to Ithaca, it is surrounded by a thick cypress glade. The picturesque 19th century houses set amid green pine groves remain pretty much original. The village is named after Robert Guiscard (thus Guiscardo/Phiscardo/Fiscardho), a Norman adventurer who briefly ruled.
Day 5 Jul 22, 2026 - Paxoi (Paxos)
Paxoi, or Paxos, is one of a group of islands known as the Ionians, located off the northwest coast of Greece. The Ionians offer some of the loveliest natural settings (and beaches) in the country, a fine selection of hotels and restaurants, a distinctive history and lore, and some unusual architectural and archaeological sites.
Day 6 Jul 23, 2026 - At Sea
Day 7 Jul 24, 2026 - Tivat
Tivat is a coastal town southwest of Montenegro and the center of Boka Kotorska Bay. Although the area has been inhabited since prehistoric times, it is the youngest city in Montenegro with tombstones from the Roman period and Venetian-style buildings wherein 1797 the Venetian Republic fell liberating the town after 20 years. Post WWII, this coastal community began its development as a town. Modern-day Tivat has features of a Mediterranean town with over 8 months of sunshine, fantastic beaches, watersport adventures and numerous flora and fauna to discover.
Day 8 Jul 25, 2026 - Dubrovnik
Classed as a world heritage treasure by UNESCO, Dubrovnik is a place of ancient streets lined with stone palaces, Venetian-style buildings and bell towers. The city is enclosed by stone walls, and the highlight is a leisurely walk atop these massive walls for a great view of the city and the sea. Entering Dubrovnik, you are greeted by an impressive pedestrian promenade, the Placa, which extends before you all the way to the clock tower at the other end of town. The Orlando Tower here is a favorite meeting place. Just inside the city walls near the Pile Gate is the Franciscan Monastery housing the third-oldest functioning pharmacy in Europe, operating since 1391. For a fantastic panorama of the city, take a cable car ride to the summit of the 1,340-foot Mount Srdj.
